Javed Kalawant

Javed, a distinguished Ghazal vocalist, carries forward the rich legacy of his father, the late Ustad Alauddin Khan—a noted Ghazal singer and Tabla player. Immersed in classical and semi-classical music from an early age, Javed honed his craft under his father's guidance and drew profound inspiration from legendary maestros like Ustad Ghulam Ali, Ustad Mehdi Hassan, Jagjit Singh Sahab, and Hariharan Sahab. A winner of the prestigious All India Radio Ghazal competition, Javed holds a Grade-B artist status with AIR Delhi and has been a regular voice on their Ghazal broadcasts. He is also empanelled with ICCR under the Ghazal category, representing Indian musical heritage on national and international stages. Javed has performed at esteemed Ghazal festivals, including Ghazal Bahaar, and prestigious venues such as the Nehru Centre in New Delhi and NMACC in Mumbai. His debut Ghazal, Dil-e-Nadan, was released by Red Ribbon Music and has been appreciated for its soulful rendition and classical depth.
